Twp of Washington EMTs Volunteered Services at St. Patricks Day Parade Drawing Large Crowds

Hosted by the village of Pearl River, the parade is well-regarded as the second largest in New York State and annually draws crowds of over 40,000 spectators, including many young families and young adults and train-loads of Pascack Valley residents travelling north to enjoy the day. At the direction of the Pearl River Alumni Ambulance Corps, multiple EMS crews from surrounding areas gathered to be posted throughout the parade route to assist in case of emergency.

WTVAC members volunteering their day to help serve and keep attendees safe included Lieutenant Justin G. Tsai, Crew Chief; EMT Robert Kopp, Qualified Driver; Probationary EMT Gary M. Peters, and Probationary EMT Jadyn Hermanns.
Of note, both Kopp and Tsai had served at this event in previous years, and this was Tsai’s third year in a row at this parade.

The Corps was especially pleased that their participation in this event served as a great learning experience for two of its newest EMTs.
The WTVAC would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Pearl River Ambulance Corps for once again inviting us to their event.
As always, the Corps is in need of additional members to help maintain its all-volunteer services.  Any person interested in volunteering their time to the Corps can find our application online at www.wtvac.org or contact us at 201-664-3784.  Additionally, the Corps also has loan-out medical supplies available to residents of the Pascack Valley, anyone in need of free equipment may contact Naomi @ 201-474-5626.
